Financial Report

Terry Molloy reviewed budget and finances in detail. Norcal chapter is in excellent shape financially. Again, board meetings and dinner meetings had negative cash flow, balanced by positive cash flow from the Transmitter revenues. Membership remains steady at around 900 members, which includes members from Sierra Nevada, Sacramento, and Santa Clara sections.  Checking, Savings and Scholarship accounts were reviewed and discussed – status is good on all accounts.

Sierra Nevada section has been absorbed into the NCal section. Need to start representation in that area. Need to find someone in Sacramento to coordinate programs.

Taxes were filed.

Discussed funding of representation of the Norcal section at the upcoming Presidents’ meeting. Motion moved and passed to budget for 2 Norcal representatives at quarterly meetings.

Training Courses

Discussed a Norcal –sponsored quality technical conference at CMA in June 2004 with tabletops. 2-day conference. 6 classrooms available for presentations. Outdoor BBQ pit and whole campus available. 40 people per classroom. Charge vendors with a discount if vendor presents non-commercial technical presentation.

CSE PE Review Classes

Stephan Gaertner traveled to Houston meeting, monitored by Tom King, to discuss and review class curriculum. Verified that all questions are multiple point and all trick questions were killed.

RTP indicated there is a booklet from 2001 ISA for $25 to study. Motion moved and passed to allow Education Chair to purchase all Study Guides for class with a limit $300.00.

Bob Hammaker volunteered to teach. Stephan put together agenda of who would tentatively teach the classes. Stephan to send agenda to all potential instructors so that they may give feedback on the assigned courses. Agreed that each person make up his own course materials.

Test is open book - Stephan to provide a binder of what would be the best materials to take into the course. Stephan suggest meeting for all instructors to discuss material.
