ISA NorCal Board Meeting Minutes
April 4, 2003

Meeting held at ACS in Richmond, CA and called to order at 5:45 pm. PDT.
Financial Report
Terry called in – 2001 & 2002 taxes are done. Taxes for 2003/2004 are not due yet. We need to update the members who can sign checks. Terry to get form so other people can sign.
Training Courses
Norcal-sponsored Technical Conference 2004
Scheduled for May 12 & 13th, 2004 ( Wed &Thurs). Need to set up committees:
Already has 3 spaces already reserved. Can handle 240 for all classrooms. Need to be able to promote during golf tournament.
2-day conference at CMA. 6 classrooms available for presentations. Outdoor BBQ pit and whole campus available. 40 people per classroom. Charge vendors with a discount if vendor presents non-commercial technical presentation.
CSE PE Review Classes
CLCPE
CCST Review Classes
Exam was last week, March 29th with 8 or 9 are taking final exam. Bob H. has been asked for additional course in July at CMA . Signed 6 new members at first CCST review class.
PLC Course
PLC course tentatively set for May 24. Limited to 10 people with Bob Hammaker as instructor. 3 people signed up for class so far.
2002-2003 Programs
April 22, 2003– Tour of Herguth Labs in Vallejo, an Oil Analysis facility which does studies on greases – www.herguth.com. Bob H. to write something up on Mr. Herguth. Local restaurants for the “on-your-own” dinner are Nantucket & Dead Fish both in Crockett.
May 21, 2003 - Panel discussion on Fieldbus at Hotel Mac. Jim Noel to moderated and has gathered panel of ABB, Rockwell, CTI, GE and Emerson.
Herb has article ready to submit to Transmitter.
June 21,2003 - Chocolate factory tour at Scharffenberger to combine with Past Presidents’ Day. Herb to send check to put $30 money down for tour. Pacific Ale House on Gilman may be a good choice for dinner afterwards.
September 10, 2003 - Tony has reserved Franklin Canyon course for the annual ISA Norcal Golf Tournament. Start advertising in May for tournament.
Roster’s and Buyer’ Guide
Brad owes Glen data on what we are getting from vendors. Glen working on how to get users list easier to use.
Brad has started the spreadsheet on the vendors. Will create a form so vendors can fill out. Will then use as budget for cost of guide plus money to develop the web-site.
Honors and Awards and Nominations
All award nominations have been submitted for the NorCal section.
NorCal board nomination candidates have been identified. Ballots to be in the May Transmitter.
South Bay Planning Meetings
Three out of the 6 scheduled South Bay meetings have been held at the Palo Alto Community Center every 2nd Tuesday of the month.

3-hour Internet session May 13; Wireless problems in June
Suggestion to change location; maybe somewhere near BART?
Website Update
Glen has secured domain names ISANORCAL.com and ISAguide.us for buyers guide for web info.
Glen has noted statics on website of 100 new visits per week.
Officers form has been filed but nothing on name change yet.
Board Meetings Schedule
Board meetings will be held the 1st Thursday of the month at 6:00 pm.(social hour at 5:30 pm.) Board meeting locations TBD.
