Check to see if dues were sent to district
Need 6-8 signups for PE Review class for district support
Budget was approved
Exact dollar amount of contribution to lobbying efforts
of California Society of PE -$250 or $450?
SB meetings
Bob Web stated that the Quality of the meetings and Turnout
has been good. Norcal spends ~$150 per meeting Moving to Restaurant
will improve atmosphere. Busy work and induce more attendance/interaction
for ~$200. Terry warns that meetings should not become a financial
drain to the district. When possible costs will be funded
by an entertainment donation of local member business presenters.
Agreed to continue to fund SB meetings next year at ~$3000
Norcal Tech 2004 Conference
Motion to keep date for Norcal Tech. Conference - May 12
& 13, 2004
Refer to Terry’s letter outline Circumstances around the
request by ISA National Committee for Norcal to postpone conference
because of newly scheduled conference in LA area.
Discussed many times during evening Noted that classroom
space at the California Maritime Academy has already been
reserved.
Finally unanimously decided to continue with originally
scheduled date and time believing scheduled conference. It
is in the best service of Norcal members. Three exhibitors
are already signed on. Impact to a southern California conference
is minimal to non-existent (Northern California members would
travel south to conference). Synergy could be leveraged because
conferences are not on the same day, but close (dual exhibits
and presentations)
Resolved that Terry to draft and E-mail one page letter
offering to coordinate and leverage events. Letter to be passed
to board for review and approval
2002-2003 Norcal Planning Meetings
Take place at Terry’s home July 11 and Aug. 14
Dave Donovan to bring information on recognition award
for district. Noted that even though we are doing most items
required, it may be difficult with the “conference issue”.
