Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) Class - Basic
Saturday, February 2, 2008 8:30 AM - 4:00 PM Cal Maritime Academy,
Vallejo
Sorry, this class did not get enough sign-ups to hold the class. Refunds will be made to anyone who paid.
This full-day seminar will provide the attendees with a basic level of knowledge on programmable logic controllers (PLC). The curriculum combines practical lectures with a hands-on classroom atmosphere.
Subjects covered in this course include:
* Basic Processor Architecture * Memory Structure * Input/Output Interface Modules * Input/Output Addressing * Standard Discrete Input/Output Modules * Standard Analog Input/Output Modules * Ladder Logic Diagrams
Attendees will receive hands-on training in programming PLC trainers using ladder logic to control common processes. Using custom built PLC trainers they will write control programs for sample processes using relay ladder logic, and download the program to a PLC. The PLC trainers provide a variety of inputs and outputs that can be manipulated to simulate many processes for development and testing purposes.
At the end of the course, the attendees should be able to:
* Describe the components and the functional operation of a PLC * Configure the power supply, CPU, and common input/output modules * Develop relay ladder logic programs for common processes * Perform basic procedures such as downloading the control program to the PLC, troubleshooting, and diagnostics.
