PID Controls Lab Class
Saturday, March 1, 2008 Cal Maritime Academy,
Vallejo
Sorry, this class did not get enough sign-ups to hold the class. Refunds will be made to anyone who paid.
The Northern California Section of ISA will be offering
an eight-hour course on Basic Control Loop Tuning on
Saturday, March 1st from 8:30 a.m to 4 p.m, at the California Maritime Academy in Vallejo.
This will be a hands-on course involving laboratory
demonstrations of working control loops.
Hands on work will include single and cascade loop tuning.
Topics will cover tuning criteria such as minimum overshoot,
shortest settling time, and robustness. Different approaches
such as the classic Ziegler-Nichols quarter amplitude, Trial-and
Error as well as Auto tuning will be explored. Prerequisites
are a solid knowledge of the functions of the PID controller
(i.e. proportional band and gain) and some process dynamics
(time constant, lead-lag) etc.
If you have any questions about the class, please contact Robbie Jackson at
